SCS
At the heart of the structured cabling systems concept is the possibility to realize the following principles:
 
Structuredness
 
Clear split of the whole cabling system into subsystems: workplace subsystem, horizontal subsystem (of a floor), vertical subsystem (of a building backbone), campus backbone subsystem. Standards impose different requirements in terms of cable run, fire safety, etc. on each subsystem components.
 
Flexibility
 
SCS enables to change quickly and within reach a cabling system configuration not changing its capital base.
 
Generality
 
Universal cable environment based on a shielded and unshielded copper cable and an optical fiber is used in SCS system. Given the circumspect integration into an infrastructure of office premises the structured systems allow to automate many processes related to control, monitoring and management of administrative services and life-support systems. Besides, SCS system is not only a uniform environment for information transfer but also compatibility with the equipment of different manufacturers and applications.
 
Redundancy
 
Redundancy principle in SCS means that the density of the information sockets is determined based on the area and ergonomic parameters of premises only. I.e. in all office premises one workplace with a minimum of two information sockets is designed and created for every 5-6 m2. In case of higher initial cost the redundancy principle has obvious advantage: any rearrangements or moves of separate employees and whole departments will not require any expenses for alteration of the cabling system.
 
Practice shows that in the stage of installation already the customer asks to lay additional connection lines, and within 1-2 years of operation the number of sockets reaches the quantity recommended in SCS from the outset.
